Volunteer Notes
"Lying beneath a sky dripping with stars, trees laden with mangos, and water cleansing our souls, we send you our love and thoughts from the paradise of Estación de Quezalguaque, Nicaragua. The seeds of our women's group are to be planted in hopes of flourishing strength, unity and beauty. Our eyes are being opened, our heads gathering wisdom, and our hearts are becoming fulfilled and enlightened with every hand held, story shared, passing sunset."
"The Valle Viejo, Nicaragua volunteers have been churning out dental health charts…we did three this week (one for adults and two for niños). We made up a song and accompanying hand game to play with the kids to remind them to brush their teeth. We're awaiting the final delivery of cement and sand, after which nothing else will get in our way! We're super-psyched that the goal of completing 20 latrines finally seems obtainable." |
